Delhi court to reopen sexual harassment case against ex-WFI chief

The legal battle is heating up as a Delhi court prepares to reconvene on November 26 to hear evidence from one of the six female wrestlers who have filed sexual harassment allegations against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

The hearing, presided over by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vaibhav Chaurasia, follows an earlier hearing held in the chamber on November 14 where the statement of one complainant was recorded. Earlier, on May 21, the court formally charged Singh with sexual harassment and the use of force to insult a woman’s modesty.

Singh, who denied the charges and sought a trial, was also charged with criminal intimidation. A co-accused, former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar, has also been charged in connection with the case.
