Florence Italy in alerts after heavy rain, flooding

Rome, Italy – The heavy rain of the river swelling and flooded the streets in Florence on Friday, the authorities issued red weather for the historic Italian city and its environment, urging the residents to stay indoors.

Eugene Janie, the head of the Central Tuscany region, who includes Florence and Pisa, called for citizens to “maximize assistance and attention”, warning of “Intense and Constant Rain” throughout the day.

The Fire Service has published images of cars partially immersed in the water in the Seso Fiorentino neighborhood north of the historic center of Florence.

It said that by mid -morning on Friday, he received dozens of requests for help in the city.

Schools, parks and cemeteries in Florence and near Prato have already been closed on Friday after amber warning – one of the maximum red – was declared the previous day.
