Every day, teenagers around the world express their creativity, communicate with friends and study on a chick. We create the strongest guarantees of teenagers by default to help young people have positive experience in our application – and give parents peace.

We see this with the success of #learnontiktok, which ignites new interests in everything – from local geology to ancient history. And since the start of feed on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), millions of teenagers use it weekly.

Today we are expanding our family functions to give parents more options for adapting adolescent accounts. We also present a feature that will help teens to create balanced digital habits.

New functions of family mating.

Simple supervision tools for families

Since the launch of family mating – parental control TikTok – five years ago, we have constantly added new functions based on families’ feedback and leading experts.

Today, we improve family mating by launching a way for parents to block teenagers from chickpeas in the times they control. No teenager or family is the same, and whether it is in family time, school, at night or weekend, caregivers can use our new Time Peculiarity to decide when the best for teens take a break.

Parents can also set a re -schedule to best match their family life. If plans change, teenagers may take extra time, but parents make a final decision.

We also add a family mating function that can allow parents to see who their teenager follows Tiktok and who follows them, as well as the bills that have blocked them.

With increasing visibility in the teenagers’ network, parents will be better equipped to have constant conversations and help teenagers develop the skills they needed.

The function of time.

We also hear that parents want to know more about the content they are engaged in teenagers in our application. In response, in the coming months, when a teenager reports a video that they think may be against the rules of runoff, they can simultaneously prevent a father, caregiver or other trusted adults, even if they do not use family mating.

With these recent updates, parents can now view or adjust more than 15 Features of safety, well -being and privacy. This is included in:

  • Re -install our STEM channel if their teenager has disconnected it. It is now available in more than 100 countries and uses millions of teenagers weekly.
  • Setting the set up daily time restrictions on the screen. For example, parents could choose teens up to 30 minutes on Tiktok for a week, but a little longer on a weekend. Once a parent’s restriction is reached, the teenager can only use TikTok if their father is shared by a unique password. Even if the parent does not adjust the setting of his teenager, every 18 years of age has a 60-minute daily screen time.
  • By switching a teenager account to a private setting by default if their teenager was published.

Help teens to learn balanced digital habits

We also announce a new way to encourage young people to turn off at night. If the teen is younger than 16 Function he.

When starting, it is a complete screen absorption with soothing music to help teens to relax and remember the time. If the teenager decides to spend extra time on TikTok after the first reminder, we show a second, harder to release, full screen. As before, we intentionally do not send postal notifications to teens at night that cannot be changed.

We have developed these functions to reflect the best practices of behavioral theory, giving positive shocks that can help teenagers develop balanced long -term habits. In countries where it has already piloted, the vast majority of teenagers decide to keep this reminder.

In the coming weeks, we also check the addition of exercises for meditation to a reminder of the wind, as studies show that reasonable meditation can improve sleep quality.

Like any new function, we look forward to hearing the feedback of our community and reporting our future plans, we are conducting research with parents and adolescents around the world to understand how we can help develop balanced habits.
