Canada of WTO files Complaint on American Metal Tariffs

The tensions of US President Donald Trump’s trade steps are growing between the US and Canada. Ottawa initiated a complaint with a dispute with the World Trade Organization on American tariffs for metal.

The WTO stated on Thursday that Canada claims that additional 25 percent responsibilities of the US for steel and aluminum products do not comply with its rules.

The WTO stated that Ottawa asked for consultations with disputes that made it possible to discuss the case. If the negotiations are unable to resolve the problem, Canada may require a decision in the panel.

Trump has not yet expressed his readiness to change his position. He said on Thursday: “I am not going to bend at aluminum, steel or cars. We are not going to bend. We were torn as a country for many years.”

Trump added that he will have cars in the US much sooner.
