First Vice -President Zanzibar Otman Masud, Lissu denied entry to Angola

Dar es salaam. On Thursday, diplomatic confrontation unfolded at Luanda Airport, when the first vice -president of Zanzibar, Otman Masud Intman, National Chapter of Tunda Lissu Tunda and Tanzania’s delegation were denied entry into Angola.

In addition to the Vice -President of Zanzibar and other Tanzans, other prominent figures were also prevented from joining Angola, including Mozambican policy, Wennchio Mondline and former President Botswana John Ham.

According to the National Chapter of Tunda Lissu, the Angol Immigration authorities kept and denied the entry to Angola by a delegation of more than 20 senior leaders and representatives of political parties from South Africa.

Kabwe also questioned the Tanzania Foreign Ministry about how they would respond to a diplomatic opponent.

He wrote a tweet: “A delegation from Tanzania, led by the leader of the @semudorothy party, including the first vice -president of Zanzibar @thmasoud, is held by Angola authorities at Luanda Airport. Their passports, including those in the officials, were conflict with”.

According to Angola sources, Tanzani officials were not the only ones detained at the airport.

These people were also denied entrance to Angola. Tanzani officials, however, were not included in the list.

The invitation noted that these persons were entering Angola on March 13, 2025 through the 4th DE Leawreiro International Airport.

However, Vice -President of Zanzibar and other Tanzans were not included in the list.

The Tanzania Foreign Ministry has not yet released an official response to the incident. However, the sources suggest that the Tanzania government is seeking immediate clarification from Angola for reasons for entry.

To date, the authorities of the Angol authorities have not specified the reasons for the detention of these invited guests.
