A man who died in a crash on I-264 was found with a gunshot wound

A man has died after being found with a fatal gunshot wound Thursday following a three-car crash on Interstate 264.

Louisville Metro Police said officers from the Sixth Precinct responded to a multi-vehicle rollover accident on I-264 near Breckenridge Lane just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday to find a black Honda apparently traveling eastbound , lost control and rolled over, stopping. at its peak, LMPD spokesman John Bradley said.

Emergency responders and bystanders tried to get the man back into the Honda, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Bradley said. The occupants of the other vehicles were not injured, Bradley said, and an initial examination showed the victim suffered a gunshot wound that appeared to be fatal.

LMPD’s homicide unit is investigating the death, Bradley said. The department’s traffic division is investigating the collision.
